(Feb 24) – In Brussels there is a young Italian architect, Gabriele Rovati, who works for the prestigious architecture firm “Hub”, and he deals with the territory government plans the development of cities and its neighborhoods. “I was born in Monza thirty years ago. I’ve been living in Brussels for three months. First I worked in Madrid and then in Antwerp”, says Gabriele, who has left Italy thanks to the Leonardo program – that offers young people the opportunity to make an experience of training and work in another EU country – and after graduating from the Polytechnic University of Milan and a master of landscape architecture. “Together with my firm, I mostly work for the region of Flanders. In particular I work on urbanism and outdoor spaces projects”. “I do not believe to be part of the ‘brain drain’ – he modestly adds – but just one of those young people who have decided to leave their country to find more satisfaction, both economic and professional. So I live abroad since 2007. For now, I don’t think about returning to Italy, I would like to continue – Rovati adds – to take care of landscaping here in Brussels”. “The studies that i’m working on will be built in the next years” says Rovati, who speaks with enthusiasm and passion for his projects and for the architectural firm where he works: “Hub – he concludes – is a creative company. We are a young, motivated and open minded team”. (Gil/Peg)
