(Mar. 15) – In the second half of 2013, Fincantieri will deliver 40 ships to the U.S. Coast Guard. The agreement has been announced during the Cruise Shipping Miami Conference and Exhibition being held in Miami, the most important international trade fair sector. Through its American subsidiary, Marinette Marine Corporation, Fincantieri has won a contract worth 90 million dollars. Twenty new vessels will be built on the dockyard of Ace Marine Green Bay, Wisconsin, while the remaining twenty will be built by a partner of Marinette Marine Corporation, Kvichak Marine Industries of Seattle, in his own yard in Kent, Washington State. “We are very proud to continue serving the U.S. Coast Guard – Fincantieri CEO Giuseppe Bono said – This order confirms the good work of our shipyards in the United States, because it allows our company to provide not only high-quality ships to the Coast Guard and U.S. Navy, but also to a wide range of non-governmental customers.” (Caf/Peg)
