(Mar. 20) – The Region of Apulia flies to Russia for a series of initiatives aimed at attracting tourists to the region. Tomorrow a delegation headed by the Tourism councilor Silvia Godelli will participate in meetings and events in the MITT, Moscow International Travel & Tourism Exhibition, the largest tourism fair in the country, held in Moscow from March 21 to 24 . According to the councilor Godelli “in 2010 15,000 Russians arrived in Apulia, for a total of 40,000 nights. And the 2011 data, not yet complete, already show a substantial increase. We focus on agreements with Russian regions,” said the councilor. And there will be also an advertising campaign especially in Moscow.” Until today there were no direct flights from the Italian region to Russia, that’s why a direct weekly charter flight between Moscow and Bari is now active “It will start from May 27 and will end on September 30, with flights every Sunday – the Director of Airports of Apulia, Marco Franchini, says -, without favoring the passage of tourists in other regions.” The Director of Pugliapromozione, Giancarlo Piccirillo has shown some of the initiatives planned in Moscow for tomorrow: “Five hundred city buses have on their side the brand Apulia, there will be an event for Thursday at the Gum Department Store and a concert of Al Bano, who is already sold out. But our target is the Russian middle class, which has already proven to be attentive to the proposals from Apulia.” (Red/Peg)
