(Apr. 5) – It starts today in Maribor, Slovenia, the exhibition ‘Imago Trieste’, a tribute to the city and its hinterland, northern end of the Adriatic. An exhibition that brings together works of different styles and genres: from views and graphics of the 17th century, gathered in the collection of Stelio and Tity Davia, to scenes captures by the photographer Francesco Bruni in the 50s. And more, Alessandro Puhali proposes an image of Trieste, focusing on its role as a ‘window to the world’ durig the Habsburg Empire, a city linked to Vienna with a 577 km long railway. To that railway line are dedicated 24 color plates that date back to 1857. Paintings, graphics and documents try to capture the image of the Italian city and its nature. In today’s hectic world, Trieste builds its identity on world-class events, all in the characteristic rhythm of the city and the hospitality of its inhabitants. (Naf/Peg)
