(May 3) The classical music of Basilicata flies out to capture the United States. On May 7, in fact, the Duni Chamber Orchestra of the State Conservatorio of Matera will hold a concert at Carnegie Hall, one of the most important worldwide venues, located in New York on 7th Avenue. On the occasion, a delegation from the Conservatorio will meet Professor Gabriella Biondi, head of the cultural sector of the Italian Consulate in New York. The meeting aims to foster a channel of communications and relationships between American and Italian institutions for lectures, conferences and classical music concerts. The Italian Chamber Orchestra is made up of 17 strings and harpsichord and for the event will be directed by Daniele Belardinelli, who teaches Orchestra Conducting at Conservatorio Duni. The Orchestra will perform music composed by Egidio Romualdo Duni, born in Matera. There will be tributes to Bach and Vivaldi. The Conservatorio of Matera named after composer Duni, was born as a branch of the Conservatorio of Bari, in December 1965. It trains and prepares future musicians and conductors, with classes ranging from violin to piano, from drums to singing and jazz guitar. (Gil/Red)
