(Jun. 19) – The first phase of NGO COL’OR new project of the NGO COL’OR will be presented tomorrow in Tirana, at the mechatronic shop Rruga Butka. The conference will be attended by the Ambassador of Italy in Albania, Massimo Gaiani, and the Minister of Labour, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities of Albania, Spiro Ksera. The initiative, launched on May 1st, 2012, and implemented through co-financing of the Italian Cooperation for Development, expects to achieve two objectives. The first one is the start-up of four social enterprises: the mechatronics shop in Tirana, managed by the NGO COL’OR, a catering company in Scutari, coordinated by “Passi Leggeri”, a garden center in Elbasan curated by the NGO Tjetër Vizion and a laundry in Valona run by the NGO Vlora Vatra. Each of these companies, assigned to four different organizations, will give employment to disadvantaged groups, eg. women victims of violence or trafficking, disadvantaged young people, long term unemployed, and will reinvest the proceeds in social activities for the community. The second objective is to create a working table for the organization of lobbying and advocacy, aimed at facilitating and expediting the approval of a legal framework that encourages the creation and development of new social enterprises.
