(Jul. 13) – The travelling exhibition “The Wonder of Learning” recounts experience from infant-toddler centres, preschools and primary schools in the city of Reggio Emilia. Organized by Reggio Children, NAREA and the Vancouver Reggio Consortium, it will be in Vancouver next July 19th – and until December 8th – at the River Market at Westminster Quay. “ The Wonder of Learning presents a narrative and communicative structure designed to reflect the contemporaneity, the complexity, and the plurality of points of view that have always characterized the work carried out in the infant-toddler centers and preschools of Reggio Emilia. The exhibition is divided into sections conceived as “micro-places” that are interconnected but independent. The sections do not follow a predetermined sequence and can be viewed by visitors according to their personal interests. They are: Dialogues with places, Dialogues with material, The enchantment of writing, Ray of light, Ideas and projects and The pulsating of life. The setup structure is innovative: like letters of the alphabet, the basic modules can be adapted to the various characteristics of the exhibition spaces, giving rise to different expressive and communicative structures as a vehicle for multiple meanings. The various projects are communicated using different media: three-dimensional objects, videos, booklets, audio recordings, and so on, which can be associated with the same project to enable different levels of reading and study, and to afford visitors a personal approach according to their level of interest and competency.
