(Aug. 20) Until August 26, it will still be possible to explore traditional aspects of life in Puglia at the Museum of European Cultures in Berlin, which organized the exhibit in cooperation with the Italian Institute of Culture and Margherita D’Amelio and Veronika Vitt. The “Museum Europaischer Kulturen” has been under restoration for the past two years, and it decided to reopen to the public with a series of “Culture Days” dedicated to Puglia: its traditional houses, known as Trulli, its music, dances, photography, films, and food are the focus of the debates surrounding the event. In particular, the photo exhibit shows pictures taken by Erika Groth-Schmachtenberger and Bernd Lohse from the 1920s onwards, and other gems from the Art Library Kunstbibliothek, from Italy’s neorealist period, and more contemporary works from locals and foreigners.
