(11 set) – There will be also Valdo Spumanti with Vittorio Orio, the famous “gondolier of both worlds” protagonist of many adventures with his boat, in a never attempted venture from 13-18 September: the descent of the Danube from Vienna to Budapest in a gondola. The initiative, called “A gondola for Europe”, is sponsored by the Associazione Nazionale Marinai d’Italia. The Company from Valdobbiadene, leader in Italy for the production of Prosecco, is among the supporters of a project in which the tireless Vittorio Orio, 71 years, will be involved after having sailed seas, lakes and rivers of the world, from the English Channel to the Hudson River with his gondola. Orio will pass through Austria, Slovakia and Hungary, covering a distance of 300 km, and during his venture he will be followed by Tullio Cardona, journalist for Il Gazzettino, who will recount the descent through an ideal daily diary. The report will be every day on the columns of the newspaper and on some websites (from www.venessia.com to www.cittadellasperanza.org), enriched with photos and movies. The story will also become a book, written by the same Cardona in collaboration with the “Istituzione per la conservazione della Gondola e la tutela del Gondoliere”. (red)
