Oct. 10 – Starting today, and until October 14, the 64th edition of the International Book Fair, “Buchmesse 2012” will take place in Frankfurt. The event is acknowledged as being the most important international occasion in which editors and publishing houses can discuss publishing rights and establish co-publishing projects. ICE, the Agency for the Promotion and Internationalization of Italian Enterprises, in cooperation with the Italian Publishers Association, set up a 270 square meter national stand, where over 1200 titles and 48 Italian publishing houses will be presented. Paolo Peluffo, Undersecretary of the Ministers’ Council, will inaugurate the stand. An overview of Italian publishing houses for 2011 took place in Room Effekt, and IPA also organized two events on accessibility of Italian books, a project born out of the idea to increase the dissemination of ebooks for the blind.
