Oct. 11 – ENI is the Mécène Principal for the “Raphael – les dernières années, une retrospective exceptionnelle sur les années de maturité du maître italien” held at the Louvre museum until January 14, 2013. The expo will follow the artist’s Roman days until his death: altar paintings, religious figures, ceremonial portraits and other masterpieces that show his extraordinary innovative spirit and enclose Raphael’s concept of aesthetics. With this expo, ENI renews its role as Mécène Principal of the Louvre, after: the 2008 successful “Mantegna 1431-1506” exhibition, France’s first expo entirely dedicated to the artist; the 2009 “Tiziano, Tintoretto, Veronese… Venetian rivarlies”; and the 2010 “L’Antichità Sognata: Innovazioni e Resistenze nel Settecento.” The exhibition on Raphael is thus part of the 2009 agreement between the Louvre and ENI, which sees the latter constantly engaged as Mécène Exceptionnel for important artistic promotion initiatives in both Italy and France.
