Nov. 22 – The Italian tenor Marco Berti will play Radames in Verdi’s Aida, on stage tomorrow at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. Other shows are scheduled for 26 and 29 November, and 3 December. The work will be conducted by Fabio Luisi, and produced by Sonja Frisell. The tenor’s future projects include: on 23, 26, and 29 December Berti will be King Radames in Aida, at the Teatro Verdi in Salerno. On January 9, 12, 16, 19 and 24 2013 he will return to the Metropolitan Opera to play Manrico (in Trovatore). Between February and May of 2013, Berti will be performing in Berlin, Houston and Los Angeles. On October 17 he released a new and ambitious recording project with only a harp and his tenor voice, entitled “My Home” (produced by MB Classics), an album born from the synergy between the famous tenor and known harpist Floraleda Sacchi. The two have joined forces to record a fine art collection with pieces from Ruggero Leoncavallo, Giacomo Puccini and Pietro Mascagni, for the first time recorded with the particular tone and color of a harp and a tenor voice.
