Feb. 6 – All set for the 8th edition of “Los Angeles, Italy – Film, Fashion and Art Festival”, hosted at the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood between February 17 and 23. Promoted by Capri in the World, with Cim Group, Eni and Rainbow Group as special partners, the event is sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economic Development and the support of the Cinema Directorate General of the Ministry of Heritage and Cultural Activities; and it is organized in collaboration with the Agency for the promotion abroad and the internationalization of Italian firms (ICE), the Consulate General of Italy and Cinecittà Studios. Also participating in its realization are the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, the Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles and the University of Southern California. The event, on which ICE worked for years, celebrates Italian cinema at the precise moment in which cinema is center stage on the world media, with the Road to the Oscars well on its way. “The activities in the U.S., as well as in other markets – said the president of ICE Riccardo Monti at the opening ceremony – answer the double purpose of promoting the Italian cinema product and conveying at the same time the right amount of Italian style. If you watch a movie set in Italy, you don’t only see the Italian product, but also the Italian mood which is the sum of objects and places, and is unique in the world. In 2013 – added Monti – we wanted to include the 8th edition of ‘Los Angeles, Italy’ in the Year of Italian Culture in the U.S. and thus increase the Agency’s presence in this area.”
