Feb. 18 – In Rue Saint Honoré, one of the main shopping streets of Paris, Piquadro products are on show. A leading professional in the leather goods and travel business, Piquadro recently opened its first boutique in the Ville Lumière. The flagship store, located opposite the famous windows of Colette, the concept store dedicated to all “fashion victims”, is a large sculpture created by architect Karim Azzabi, who also took care of Piquadro’s futuristic headquarters in Bologna. The basic concept refers to the idea of a cocoon: a unique and original exhibition format in which the internal structure is made entirely of Corian, an innovative and incredibily versatile material created by DuPont that offers unlimited technical and aesthetic possibilities. The shopping experience is enhanced by the ability to interact with the products exposed through a special iPhone application that interfaces the video wall in the shop. With this software, developed in collaboration with Vodafone, the sales staff can display all the features of the product, color variations and quality tests by simply reading the bar code of the product with a smartphone. “The opening of the boutique in Paris Rue Saint-Honoré is an important part of the internationalization strategy of the Piquadro brand – said Marco Palmieri, president and CEO – The French capital is one of the main destinations of world tourism and it offers Piquadro the unique opportunity to showcase in one of the best shopping streets in Paris. This is an essential step in the growing global strategy of the company.”
