Feb. 27 – Mauro Ferrari, a researcher from Friuli, engaged professionally at the highest levels in the United States, widely considered the father of nanomedicine, is now president of the Methodist Hospital Research Institute in Houston, Texas. He ha also been accepted into the group that now sponsors the site fvgworldplayers.it, a portal – presented by the Region Friuli Venezia Giulia a few months ago, to create a network of excellence on line in the world, capable of promoting the culture, business and identity of Friuli. The decision was taken unanimously in recent days within the Region’s administration, the working group that oversees the operations of the site and includes six organizations officially representing all fellow countrymen abroad: Giuliani in the world, Alef, Efasce, Friuli in the world, Eraple and UES. Words of appreciation were expressed for the work of professor Ferrari, who grew up and graduated from high school in Udine, where he was an avid sportsman, before devoting himself to the study of Engineering and Medicine. Always at the highest levels in the U.S., the professor – today one of the greatest experts in the world of bioengineering and biomedical nanotechnology – has a strong personal commitment to the fight against cancer. Ferrari is also vice dean and professor at Weill Cornell Medical College in Manhattan, New York.
