Mar. 11 – The Venice Film Festival, or Biennale, is one of the most important film festivals in Europe and the world. For the second time, it will return to St. Petersburg in the spring. From March 14 to 18, the Dom Kino cinema will show 13 Italian films produced in 2012 and presented in competition at Venice. It represents a valuable occasion to understand contemporary Italy, how it is evolving and how it fits into modern times. Luigi Lo Cascio, director for “La Città Ideale”, and Ivano di Matteo, director for “Gli Equilibristi,” will open the first day of screenings, on March 14, and will be available to answer questions from the public. The films will be screened in the original language with Russian subtitles.
