Mar. 15 – Brasilia hosted the seminar on “Italian-Brazilian Collaboration for Development of Infrastructure” organized by the Italian Embassy. The meeting was attended by over 250 institutional representatives and members of the business community of both countries. The Minister for the Environment, Land and Sea, Corrado Clini, opened the debate by the importance of a sustainable use of resources as a driver for economic development. The Italian Ambassador in Brazil, Raffaele Trombetta, remarked that one of the seminar’s objectives, sponsored by the Embassy as part of its share of economic diplomacy, was to highlight the great opportunities that infrastructure development in Brazil offers to Italian companies.
These can take advantage of the many points of complementarity between the two economies. Although Brazil is not considered a priority country for Italian Cooperation, Italy is committed to ensure the success of current initiatives. The level of development reached by Brazil allows it to become a financial partner with whom it is possible to negotiate development in mature and innovative terms.
