Apr. 2 – The University of Brescia will sign today a memorandum of understanding with the Icahn School of Medicine in New York (Mt. Sinai School of Medicine). The agreement concerns the institutional cooperation related to health concerns: aging populations, unbalanced diet, occupational hazards and environmental challenges. These are the main topics touched upon by the research exchange in technology and education between the two centers of excellence. The signing ceremony will take place on April 2 at 9:00 am during a conference in Mount Sinai (Annenberg Building, 5th Floor, 1190 Fifth Avenue at East 101st Street, New York) in the presence of the Dean of the University of Brescia, prof. Sergio Pecorelli, and Vice-Chancellor delegated the coordination of research, internationalization and higher education prof. Maurizio Memo, and will be followed by a symposium on aspects of global health that will be the subject of joint cooperation, with the participation of Italian and American researchers. Prof Pecorelli, President of the Italian Agency on Pharmaceuticals, will also give a presentation. The ceremony is part of the events planned by the “2013: Italy in the U.S.” initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the Science and Technology department.
