Apr. 4 – The MedFilm festival returns from Morocco once again with an award for Italian cinema: “Le Cose Belle” by Agostino Ferrente and Giovanni Piperno, won the Azzeddine Meddour pour la Première Oeuvre Prize at the International Festival of Mediterranean Film of Tetouan, Morocco. “Le Cose Belle,” at its first international screening, after a forced stop due to lack of funds needed to prepare the international version, was “adopted” by Ermanno Olmi’s Hypothesis Cinema, who loved the film so much to decide to represent it. Initially proposed for the documentary section, the direction of the festival insisted on placing it in the official competition, in the company of major titles, including the award-winning films of the last edition of the Cannes Film Festival.
