Apr. 11 – Rimini’s Sipo, active in the food industry, recorded in 2012 a revenue growth of 5% compared to 2011, continuing its internationalization process in Eastern and Northern Europe. This is a positive result obtained thanks to the firm’s internationalization strategy developed in the last two years, which has seen the company expand its presence in many European countries. The ratio of exports reached a market share of 10% of total sales. “While until 2011 our products were intended only for the domestic market – said Massimiliano Ceccarini, Development Manager of Sipo – we felt it was essential to branch out abroad, in areas with high purchasing power and a strong demand for agricultural products of high quality. In particular I am referring to the North-European countries and the Baltic area. The positive results have allowed us to avoid any useless firing, although we had to lower profit margins due to the cost of labor, tax burden and increasing costs of raw materials. Although the scenario is sad and critical, there is today a much stronger need for solidarity across the entire supply chain – not only companies and trade associations, but also banks, and administrations need to make the right sacrifices.”
