May 9 – Parmigiano Reggiano, Prosciutto di Parma, Mortadella di Bologna, Modena balsamic vinegar, along with other well-known foods and wines from Emilia-Romagna, are bound to enter the Asian market. There are ten companies from Emilia Romagna that until May 10 will participate in Hofex (Hong Kong), Asia’s leading exhibition in the agri-food sector. In 2011, it registered 1,800 exhibitors from 48 countries and over 33,500 visitors. The presence of Emilia-Romagna is under the aegis of Deliziando, a project promoted by the Region and UnionCamere to support small producers in Emilia-Romagna who want to go abroad. “The agri-food exports from Emilia-Romagna grew in 2012 by more than 3%, confirming themselves as a crucial element for Italy’s economic recovery, – says the Regional Councilor for Agriculture Tiberio Rabboni – Deliziando tries to help from a technical and organizational point of view the small and medium-sized companies that produce high quality products, that alone are not likely to receive the substantial investment required to be known in important international markets.”
