June 6 – Cameron, holding the G8’s presidency, put forth the idea of hosting, today, a preparatory meeting focusing, for the first time, on the importance of Impact investing and social finance. The meeting will be dedicated to the promotion of an agenda for social innovation that can enhance and support new financial instruments, such as Social Funds and Social Impact Bonds, which aim at generating social and environmental positive impacts. Giovanna Melandri, president of “Uman foundation”, takes part in the Italian delegation’s meetings, to discuss the policies needed to implement investments for social impact in Italy.
