(Jun. 19) – The ‘Juventus Soccer School Kenya’ was born in Nairobi as the first official football school of all sub-Saharan Africa, developed and managed by the ‘Juventus Club Doc g. Scirea Chakama’, with the support and official recognition of the Ministry of Sport and the Football Kenya Federation (FKF). ‘Juventus soccer school Kenya’ is a great opportunity for sporting activity, for the scouting of new talents and to improve the quality of football in Kenya. The school in Nairobi is only the first stage of a major project: soon there will be added two other locations in the cities of Mombasa and Nakuru, with the goal of opening 12 schools across the Kenyan territory within 5 years. The ‘Juventus soccer school Kenya’ was created to support the charity program ‘Chakama in the heart’, led by the non-profit organization Karibu, founded by former music producer Popi Fabrizio. The profits from the inscriptions of the children, the sponsorship, merchandising and the organization of sporting events, the sale of the card players or any TV and image rights go to the program ‘Chakama in the heart’ and, consequently, of the community of the village of Chakama, near Malindi. “The school Juventus is our new gem,” said Fabrizio Popi, “and great credit goes to Juventus for allowing this initiative in Kenya, a country where only English and Spanish football are little known. Actually, the Juventus School is in Nairobi, but soon it will be opened in Mombasa and then in Nakuru, looking forward to open other schools in small towns, thanks to a program developed together with the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The most rewarding thing for me is that this project is supported exclusively by African sponsors and our only associative partner is Yerry Kombe, a businessman from Mombasa. This demonstrates how great is the interest around this great project”. (Peg)
