June 21 – There are 8 Italians among the 24 finalists in the second round of the European Intel Business Challenge, a business plan competition for college students taking place in Dublin. The finalists were selected from hundreds of projects from all over Europe. “It is a great international recognition – said the Minister of Education, University and Research, Maria Chiara Carrozza – demonstrating the quality of our research. It is important that our universities, through the work of their teachers and technical and administrative staff, are able to promote and grow these business ventures. They successfully encourage students and researchers’ creativity by providing a strong educational environment. It is also equally important – said the minister – that our industrial and financial system knows how to select and develop the best fruits of science and technology, finding opportunities to innovate their products, services and business models.” Carrozza invited to the Ministry of Education on July 3 all the Italian finalists and Intel organizers to congratulate the work done and their success.
