June 21 – This year the Italian associations in Paris are back, for the 9th consecutive year, in the streets and squares of the Ville Lumière. The “Forum of Italian Associations”, beginning tomorrow, is organized as always by In Focus and, for the first time, by Italia in Rete, the Franco-Italian associative network. The event will take place in a particularly significant location: the Place d’Italie, in the heart of the 13th arrondissement. The square will turn into an Italian village for music and theater, becoming a way to learn more about Italy and its culture through sustainable tourism or language courses. History, politics and social engagement will also be present with the Paris Democrats Association, the Carlo Giuliani and Libera Circle, ANPI, ACLI, Inca-CGIL and INAS. The rich program include Luigi Grasso’s jazz, Télamuré and SuDanzare’s tarantellas and tammuriatas, Anna Andreotti’s choir, which will take the public on a journey through songs of struggle, revolt and emigration, Verdi’s modernization with Silvia Malagugini, a performance by the Grandma Sima company, and a reading of “Strange but true” by Gigi Borruso and Serena Rispoli with the Transit Theater of Palermo. A “networking” Italy that has never been so free and creative.
