July 5 – The Maramotti Collection is entering a period of intense collaborations with Italian and foreign institutions, thanks to the Tate Modern (London) and the New Museum (New York) borrowing important works by Ellen Gallagher from the ‘90s and early 2000s for two retrospectives. An Untitled (James Ensor) work by Jannis Kounellis is currently on display in Bonjour Ostende show, curated by Xavier Tricot; Agostino Arrivabene’s works are exhibited at the Panorama Museum in Bad Frankenhausen (Germany) in the exhibition Pathei Mathos; and two projects produced and exposed at the Maramotti Collection will be hosted in Sweden and China. “Malick Sidibè. La vie en rose,” production show, curated by Laura Serani and Laura Incardona after the presentation in Moscow at the Ekaterina Cultural Foundation, will be hosted in August at the Stockholm Marabouparken, where it will remain until December. The large installation commissioned in Kaarina Kaikkonen, “Are We Still Going On?”, was requested by the K11 Concept – Art Department in Shanghai and will be open to visitors from August 9 to September 10. Moreover, in Shanghai the Maramotti Collection has collaborated on the project of three emerging Chinese artists, Chen Wei, Aaajiao and Hu Yun, who were invited to freely reinterpret the Max Mara brand iconic coat 101801 for the opening of a new flagship store. The exhibition will open on September 10.
