July 30 – A friendly match is set for July 31 in Kansas City between the Roma and the Mls All Star Game, the US league. “Playing against a team that boasts players like Henry, Cahill, Robbie Keane and my good friend Marco Di Vaio will make this game much more than just a pre-season test for us,” said Francesco Totti. “The fact that they have beaten Chelsea speaks for itself. Spectators will see a good quality match, I bet it will be a great game in which the real winner will be the game and not the teams,” he added. Roma, under the American management of James Pallotta, is not at its first US tour, but never had the team participated in an All-Star Game. “There is no doubt that both for me and for the team this is a great honor. We are very happy to be invited and to be the first Italian club to play this challenge,” admitted Totti. “I think it’s a clear signal of Roma’s international appeal, and highlights the fact that the club is doing a good job at spreading its image.” Totti is yet to completely close the door on the possibility of finishing his career with the Mls: “It’s a league that has grown a lot in recent years and has become competitive at a technical and tactical level.”
