Aug. 19 – Homeland, identities, tribalism and social integration are only some of the themes depicted in the photo exhibition, entitled “Home, my place in the world” on display until Sept. 14 in London. The Wandsworth Museum is in fact hosting an exhibition encompassing the general themes of migration and home; the display puts together 50 shots by famous international photographers who have been awarded the “Accademia Apulia Photography Award”, established in 2008 by the Accademia Apulia UK. The latter is part of the Pugliesi Nel Mondo associative network and is directed by Angelo Iudice, also member of the Pugliesi Nel Mondo’s General Council. The exhibition displays the works presented for the 2011-2012 Award competition, as well as some of those proposed for this year’s edition. “Home, my place in the world” represents an interesting narration of social integration among peoples, from their success stories to their hardships. The photos bring out the true value of the homeland as understood by our contemporary society; the general aim is to make people more aware of theheritage, culture, and traditions of new migrants.
