Aug. 27 – The “M / Y Stella di Mare” will make a fine show on the French Riviera. The new 30 meters yacht is in steel and aluminum; and it was assembled at Cantiere delle Marche by engineer Sergio Cutolo, responsible for Hydro Tec. The Explorer Vessel will be officially presented in September at the Festival de la Plaisance in Cannes, the International Boating Fair, at its 36th edition, will take place Sept. 10-15. “M / Y Stella di Mare – said the company in a statement – has been designed to meet the owner’s requests, who has been sailing the Mediterranean with his family since the delivery, which occurred 2 weeks after the launch took place in Ancona at the end of March. After the Boat Show, the owner will continue his journey in the Mediterranean, before crossing the Atlantic Ocean and extend their cruise in the US East Coast and the Caribbean Islands. The owner is a true appassionato of sea and boats, and spent long hours on the bridge to deal with the management of their yacht. Spending time with the yacht took away time spent with family and friends. So we designed a sky lounge that connects the bridge to the rest of the yacht and can easily be closed off with a retractable screen in case of night sailing.” The yacht maintains the family feeling of the Darwin Class Explorer Yacht range, yet it has different design characteristics, in addition to the aforesaid wheelhouse open space: the living rooms are larger (more than 10 square meters each); the VIP cabin has been lengthened by 1.50 m, and it is now as big as the cabin; and the cockpit main deck is significantly deeper, to the point that it allows the simultaneous presence of the classic sofa aft and a separate dining table for 10 people. The MTU 8V 2000 M72 for 720 Kw can speed at 13.5 knots without making excessive noise and keeping power consumption to a minimum thanks to the Heavy Duty calibration. The interiors were designed by architect Pierluigi Flori. The yacht’s line has large windows in the hull to ensure open environments; it is clean and warm thanks to the elm shades that change color from brown to gold. The cofferdam below the VIP cabin was converted into a “cellar” which can store more than 600 bottles of wine. “This detail – said the company – has been strongly desired by the owner, who is also a producer of fine white wines. All the bathrooms are made in tone with the rest of the boat, with open pore white walls and furniture fronts in elm. The washing systems are all custom made and travertine, while the showers are completely covered with a mosaic pottery pattern.”
