Sept. 11 – “All for one, one for all” was the famed motto of the Three Musketeers, and today it is essentially being interpreted by Gildo Zegna, CEO of the fashion company by the same name, as the recipe to protect made in Italy products. “Everyone must do their part, starting with the entrepreneurs. I don’t think it is all a political issue; it is a common problem to both the public and private spheres. We should not discard Italian productivity, but rather defend it and try to enhance it,” says Zegna speaking to reporters at the Frankfurt Motor Show. According to the CEO, young people should be pushed into the traditional crafts through vocational schools; and the manager recognizes that “Minister Carrozza is moving in this direction.” Zegna also says that “the lowering of the tax wedge is crucial. I believe that Prime Minister Letta has finally realized this, thanks to Confindustria’s mediation. The ICE, – he underscores – through the Ministry of Economic Development, is reorganizing itself to better promote Made in Italy products, and this is also essential.” But what is the CEO of a leading company for men’s luxury wear doing at the Frankfurt Motor Show? The reason is not solely his private passion for cars, but rather in his company’s partnership with another luxury brand: the Maserati. The two industrial cultures are both synonymous with high quality and privilege. The latest Maserati concept car, Quattroporte Ermenegildo Zegna Limited Edition, premiered at the Frankfurt Motor Show: the car is characterized by a unique and new stand compared to the current Quattroporte range of colors, materials and details, designed and constructed with a future version in mind, which will be released in limited series in 2014.
