Sept. 19 – An Italian at the head of Eumabois. The European federation, which brings together 13 national associations for woodworking technology, construction and its derivatives, appointed Ambrogio Delachi as President during the most recent meeting, held in Jyvaskyla, Finland. With eight hundred companies and production levels around €6 billion (1.5 of which made in Italy), Eumabois has a strong vocation for export throughout the world. Two countries, Italy and Germany, are today the benchmark for technological excellence, operator safety, and workmanship quality. Ambrogio Delachi – President of the Italian Association Acimall and former vice president of the federation – was elected by a unanimous vote, along Juergen Koeppel, named vice president, already board member of the Homag Group, representing the German VDMA. The other directors in office were reconfirmed: Zdenek Bezdek (Czech Republic), Heikki Sonninen (Finland), and Erich Zeller (Switzerland), as well as treasurer Jean Paul Balz (Switzerland). “The European industry of woodworking technology is synonymous with excellence – commented Delachi – and Eumabois will become an incubator for supranational agreements and cooperative relations, because the time has come to break through the narrow national horizons, so that European manufacturers can work together to address the challenges of an increasingly difficult global market.”
