Sept. 26 – More than 50 films, 24 opera productions, a dozen television programs, and three Oscars: these are just some of the numbers relating to the career of the Italian master Dante Ferretti. And the MoMa in New York has decided to dedicate an exhibition to the Master from September 28 until January 9: “Dante Ferretti : Design and Construction for Cinema.” The retrospective on the artist, who has worked with the greatest Italian and foreign names, will develop around a huge maze of sets between the room pillars that will welcome drawings, sketches, and props spread over three floors. A colossal structure will accompany the visitor in the exploration of Ferretti’s creative work, design and architecture, the life of an artist capable of responding to technological progress and moving from the material construction of sets to the virtual one. His tireless activities will be celebrated in parallel at the Titus Theatre 1 of the Museum with a screening of twenty-two films.
