Sept. 26 – Marmomacc, an essential meeting point for the marble industry, is currently taking place in Verona, but it is also expanding in Latin America. The Vitória Stone Fair, the most important trade fair in Brazil for the stone world, from the next edition in February 18-21, 2014, will be called Vitória Stone Fair/Marmomacc Latin America. This is an important signal of the event’s rebranding, which aims at retracing the success formula behind Marmomacc and adding product design and culture, along with teaching, training courses for architects and skilled operators. The project was shown this morning during the opening day of Marmomacc’s 48th edition, to be held until Saturday at the Fiera di Verona. The presentation was attended by the President of Veronafiere, Ettore Riello, the Director General of VeronaFiere, Giovanni Mantovani, the president of Milanez & Milaneze, Cecília Milaneze, and the delegate of VeronaFiere for Latin America, Andrea Batazzi. The initiative follows up the 2012 operations with which Veronafiere took part in the organization of the two main Brazilian events in the natural stone sector, Vitória Stone Fair and Cachoeiro Stone Fair. This was made possible thanks to the acquisition of 60% of the company Milanez & Milaneze and the creation of new Veronafiere do Brazil, which also controls Mec Show, a fair focused on engineering, automation and energy. Marmomacc is regarded by the industry as the worldwide reference for Marble and Granite in the field: the 2012 edition hosted 1,431 exhibitors, of which 57 % were international, on a net area of 73,458 square meters.
