Oct. 29 – “I’ve been taking photographs since childhood, when I used a Kodak Instamatic and took pictures of all the Alfa Romeo I found on the street,” says Nicola Ughi on his website. Professional photographer and winner of numerous international awards, Nicola Ughi’s latest achievement came Sunday night in New York at the headquarters of the Lucie Foundation. His one in black and white shot of Andrea Bocelli holding tenderly in his arms a colt earned Ughi a second place in the prestigious international competition International photography Awards 2013. The photograph, competing in the “People Portraits” category, was taken in the tenor’s property. One of the most beloved and well-known Italian artists abroad, Bocelli’s love for horses is duly reflected in the photo. Ughi, born in Pisa in 1972, specializes in corporate work related to the equestrian world and is involved in publishing fine art.
