Nov. 4 – Furniture, food processing, highly specialized engineering… Friuli Venezia Giulia’s enterprises leave today for Canada. The companies will be engaged in a business trip that aims to raise awareness and promote and enhance quality products made in Friuli Venezia Giulia. They will be accompanied by an institutional delegation formed by the President of the Region Debora Serracchiani, the President of Unioncamere, Giovanni Pozzo, the Dean of the University of Udine, Alberto Felice de Toni, and the president of Confindustria Udine, Matteo Tonon. The mission aims to further strengthen relations with the North American country and is coordinated by the Canadian Consulate in Udine, thanks to the presence of an honorary consul Primo Di Luca. The Friuli companies will participate in Toronto in a series of B2b meetings with their local counterparts, while the institutional delegation will go to Ottawa for a reception with the Federal Minister, Julian Fantino a Friuli native. The delegation will then participate as special guest of Fantino and Di Luca in the Toronto Famee Furlane, a networking appointment with entrepreneurs and Canadian authorities. Tomorrow they will meet with Ontario Prime Minister Kathleen Wynne, followed by one with Toronto Mayor Rob Ford. “I think it is our institutional duty to accompany our businesses in foreign markets to support their internationalization and export choices – said president Serracchiani – Canada is an important place for Friuli’s quality product exports, which are the backbone of our industrial production. Excellence, research, development, and design are the cards that Friuli must deal on domestic and foreign markets.”
