Nov. 11 – Scientific collaborations, research, growth and trade: the University of Trieste and the University of Rijeka, the third largest city in Croatia, are planning a meeting between the Maurizio Fermeglia for the University of Trieste, and the Head of the University of Rijeka. Fermeglia will be accompanied by his vice-dean Renato Gennaro. The discussion topics will range from the intensification of scientific collaborations already in place, to the new opportunities offered from Croatia’s entry in the European Union. European projects, educational exchanges and international mobility for students and teachers will be the center of discussions. The two universities are also members of the Conference of Deans of the Adriatic Alps and the Danube area, and therefore they will explore opportunities for cooperation in these geopolitical centers. “This visit – emphasizes Dean Fermeglia – is part of the international development strategy of the University of Trieste, which plans to establish scientific research and teaching relations at an international level to attract funding, teachers and students. Our attention is now directed towards neighboring countries but in the coming weeks we will also focus on the Middle East and South East Asia. The goal is to make the University of Trieste a magnet for international research and higher education.”
