(Dec. 18) – Lying between the valleys of the Tordino and Vomano, the fame of the town of Castellalto has crossed the Italian borders thanks to GLM Components, a company from Abruzzo world leader in the production of metal components and accessories for cars and motorcycles. The company operates with major car manufacturers in the world and, in recent years, has scored a growth despite the international economic downturn, preparing to close 2013 with an upstream revenues of 35 million euro (33 million in 2012), a turnover of 56 million euro (49 million in 2012, up 14%) and about 450 employees. Mind-boggling numbers, but GLM does want to stop there. BNL Gruppo BNP Paribas and Sace – a group that supports the international competitiveness of enterprises in Italy and abroad – have in fact announced a financial transaction to support the growth of the company from Castellalto, through a 2 million euros line of credit, guaranteed by SACE and paid with funds from BNL EIB (European Investment Bank). This operation is intended to cover the costs for the expansion and modernization of GLM facilities, for working capital requirements, for the execution of foreign contracts (particularly in Mexico) and for the participation in international fairs.
