Feb. 5 – Bratislava, a city in which Slovaks, Austrians, Germans, Czechs and Hungarians have lived throughout the centuries, leaving their cultural heritage, will host a meeting in the name of multicultural music. The Slovak capital will welcome one of the first dates of the new tour by saxophonist Michele Polga, who will present his recent “Little Magic” with his quartet. For both quality and performance, the event is unique. It opens tonight at the Atelier Babylon with the Radovan Tariška Quintet, a renowned ensemble of Slovak saxophonists. What distinguishes Michele Polga, in a very broad international jazz scene, is his ability to phrase and the consistency of his solos. Among his Italian colleagues, he stands out for his understanding of the modern interpretation tradition, the high performance levels, and for the originality of his compositions. These aspects put him in the group of musicians who give unique performances worldwide. Polga will perform in Bratislava tonight at an event organized by the Italian Institute of Culture and the Embassy of Italy.
