Mar. 3 – Enel Green Power’s first wind power plant, Primavera, in the Brazilian state of Bahia, is finally ready. The plant consists of 13 wind turbines of 2.3 MW each, for a total installed capacity of 30 MW. Thanks to this new structure, Brazil will reach by 2022 20.1 GW of installed capacity, surpassing that of all other South American countries put together, according to a recent study by Navigant Research. Maurizio Bezzeccheri, EGP responsible for Latin America, said “the plant was constructed in an inland area, which has some very peculiar characteristics from the point of view of the landscape. Its construction required careful attention, also because of environmental integration considerations, a common feature to this kind of infrastructure in Brazil.”
