Mar. 12 – The pianist, composer, and conductor Giovanni Allevi was born in 1969 in Ascoli Piceno. He was the “enfant terrible” of contemporary classical music, performing in New York, Hong Kong, Vienna, Tokyo and London. In recent years, Allevi’s talent and charisma hasn’t gone unnoticed, and today Allevi is considered one of the greatest composers on the international scene, a beloved talent that speaks to several generations. And Allevi never ceases to surprise. After the success of his latest Christmas album, “Christmas for you” (released November 19, 2013 for Bizart/Sony Music) and after the brilliant performance at the Teatro Ponchielli in Cremona, where he ran the his symphonic project “Sunrise,” Allevi is preparing to return to the Lugano convention center for a live performance. The pianist from Le Marche, who usually performs in jeans and tennis shows, will perform solo on the piano to retrace – on the stages of the main world theaters – his career’s triumphs. In “Piano Solo Tour 2014,” Allevi will play with emotion the melodies he composed that have now entered the musical imagination of the entire audience. The tour is for his die-hard fans as well as newcomers, thanks to a program that spans twenty years of his award-winning composing career. The author of “Musica in Testa” will prepare for the tour in his special way: with a special performance in Lugano on March 19.
