Mar. 24 – Enel Green Power (EGP) is an Enel Group company devoted entirely to the development and management of power generation from renewable sources at the international level. It operates in Europe as well as in the American continent. In Latin America, Enel Green Power operates renewable energy plants in Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panama, Chile and Brazil. The Italian power company recently announced that, through its Dutch subsidiary Enel Green Power International BV (the financial and controlling holding company of Enel Group Power’s international subsidiaries), it has signed a loan agreement for € 153 million with Banco Santander, as lender, lead arranger and sole agent. The agreement is covered by the Spanish Export Credit Agency (“CESCE”). The 12-year term loan bears an interest rate in line with the market benchmark and is secured by a parent company guarantee issued by EGP. The loan is associated with investments in wind farms in Mexico owned by Enel Green Power subsidiaries. Cesce, in its institutional role, supports the Spanish component producers working with Enel Green Power for the construction and development of the plants. EGP’s development strategy is based on the funding of projects with cash flow generation in combination with external sources only when they are long-term, cost competitive, reliable partners. EGP owns and operates wind turbines in Mexico for 144 MW and has under construction two further wind plant: Southeast (102 MW) and Dominica (100MW).
