Apr. 4 – Domenico Quirico is in Peru: the Italian journalist will hold a conference in Lima on April 9, a year after his abduction in Syria. On April 9, 2013, his traces were lost and the war correspondent for La Stampa remained in the hands of his kidnappers for five months, until September 8, when thanks to the intervention of the Italian Government, Quirico was freed. After this experience, Quirico retold his abduction and long imprisonment in the book “Il Paese del male. 152 giorni in ostaggio in Siria,” (The country of Evil: 152 days hostage in Syria). The conference will be held at 7pm at the Pier Paolo Pasolini Auditorium of the Italian Cultural Institute of the Peruvian capital.
