Apr. 4 – The Italian Institute of Culture in Marseille, under the patronage of the Municipality of Venice and RAI Radio, continues its project dedicated to Venice. The next event will be the last and will take place April 15 at 7pm with the opening of two exhibitions that highlight the uniqueness of Venice, its symbiosis with water, mists and light. Said light is so particular that it fascinated even Claude Monet, who painted the city numerous times. And this peculiar symbiosis of Venice with its waters and lights will be on display until May 16 in 40 photographs: “Passeggiata nel sogno” by Etta Lisa Basaldella and “Emozioni d’acqua” by Mirella La Rosa. Twenty photos each to discover a city suspended between water and sky. At 6pm, Luigi Alberotanza, Associated senior scientist at the CNR Venice Institute for Mass Dynamics, will open the event with a conference on the fragility of Venice and high water issues, explaining the work that has been going on for years and should be completed by 2016. The construction of MOSE, the massive project on movable bulkheads to close the city’s inlets, will link the water of the lagoon to the sea.
