New York – It’s a staggering success from critics and audiences alike for Vittorio Grigolo’s Rodolfo, main character in Franco Zeffirelli’s “La Boheme,” on stage at the Metropolitan Opera in New York until April 18. “His voice is at its best – writes the New York Times – an attractive, ardent and flexible tool which he uses to bring out the character’s passion.” Undoubtedly, Zeffirelli’s production allows to skillfully overcome the modern barriers to theater and recreate a 19th century Paris. In addition to the singers on stage, there are 80 singers and a hundred extras, including 35 children. Grigolo, 37, is joined on stage by Romanian soprano Anita Harting, for her debut at the Metropolitan Opera. The opera is also directed by an Italiano, Stefano Renzani. (9Colonne)
