Apr. 15 – The Azienda Agricola Giuseppe Milazzo brings home three awards, delivered in France, for its wines produced in Campobello di Licata, in the Agrigento province. After the awards received at the International Wine Competition in Verona, the Sicilian company has been honored at the Challenge International du Vin 2014, held a few days ago in Bourg, near Bordeaux. The Challenge is one of the oldest and most prestigious wine competitions in the world. In this edition, 800 professionals blindly judged more than 5,000 wines from 38 countries. Of the 19 gold medals awarded to Italian wines, 3 went to the Azienda Agricola Giuseppe Milazzo. These awards further enrich the company’s trophy shelf. The selected wines were: Federico II Metodo Classico vintage 2006, the red wine Duca di Montalbo, and the white wine Terre della Baronia. In addition, thanks to the bronze medals obtained by the white wine Maria Costanza, and the red wine Maria Costanza, the Campobello di Licata company was the most awarded winery from Sicily and among the first from Italy. “In 2014, Federico II turns 20, and a gold medal seems to me the best way to celebrate this special birthday,” said Saverio Lo Leggio, General Director of the company. “It’s the only Italian classic method awarded at the Challenge. To receive such a prestigious award for a sparkling wine is a source of great satisfaction; the fact that the award comes from France is also further reason for pride.”
