Nairobi – The Italian Under 18 team was put together a little over a year ago, making its debut in April in Dubai, arriving third in the international tournament. The team was created under the training, cultural and economic exchange agreement between Lega Pro and the United Arab Emirates. Coached by Valerio Bertotto, the young players will be in Kenya to play two matches, today and Friday. The first match will see the Italian team play against the Kenya National Under-20 at 6pm at the Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi; the second match will be a three-team tournament with other Under-18 teams. The trip to Kenya is a further step “to build the international experience of Berretti’s team – says Francesco Ghirelli, director of Lega Pro – we need to lower the age of our league players so that we can start training them as soon as possible. In Kenya, the players will take part in a solidarity project, confirming the peculiarity of our league: professional and social engagement.” (9Colonne)
