Meknès – The Italian Institute for Foreign Trade, ICE, as part of the promotional activities dedicated to mechanized agriculture, and in collaboration with FederUnacoma, organizes the Italian collective participation at the fair SIAM – International Exhibition for Agriculture in Morocco, which will be held in Meknes from April 24th to May 3rd. Agriculture plays a major role in the economy of Morocco: despite the growing urbanization, 46% of the active population works in the agricultural sector, which contributes about 15% to the national GDP. The Moroccan government has initiated a development plan called Plan Maroc Vert (PMV), which provides for investments of approximately one billion euro over the next ten years, with the goal of doubling the profitability of firms in the primary sector.
