Cannes – There is also a little piece of Italy in the film by Olivier Assayas, “Clouds of Sils Maria,” competing today in the Official Selection of the Cannes Film Festival. The film is the result of an international co-production effort between the German Pallas Film GmbH, the French CG Cinéma SA and the BLS Film Fund & Commission from South Tyrol. The latter contributed with a financial support of €350.000. Several scenes from the movie were filmed in South Tyrol, in locations chosen thanks to South Tyrolean location manager Daniel Defranceschi, who worked with the location scout Florian Mohn. (9Colonne)
