June 16 – A memorandum of understanding will be signed tomorrow to establish a network of humanitarian emergency interventions within the UN system. The executive director of the World Food Programme, Ertharin Cousin, and the general director of Italy’s Cooperation Department, Giampaolo Cantini, will sign the agreement during the opening, in San Vito dei Normanni, Brindisi, of the new areas made available by the Italian Government in the former USAF base. The aim is to give further instruments to humanitarian interventions.
