(Jun 30) Twenty regions for one Italy, twenty artists for one exhibition: “Venti per Una” is the title of the collective of contemporary artists inspired by images, impressions and memories from all the Italian regions, which will reach Slovakia for the final stage of the European tour. The exhibition will be hosted by the City Gallery in Zilina, in conjunction with the Seventh Annual Italian Festival in Slovakia “Dolce Vitaj”. According to Italian Ambassador in Bratislava Roberto Martini, “the exhibition is the most important event of contemporary art the ‘Dolce Vitaj’ festival and is part of a wider program organized by the Italian Cultural Institute together with the Embassy for the Italian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.” Choosing an artist for every region wants to demonstrate how the entire peninsula is creative, including smaller towns and not just main cities. The show, in fact, is emerging as a valuable opportunity to ask whether and how we can still speak of Italian art in today’s world.
